A Ramp in a Japanese Garden Setting

My brother, a California contractor, and I co-designed this front- entry ramp to gently curve around a previously-installed ground lantern, our not wanting to dig up the fragile Japanese landscape. And why can't ramps have a curve? Interestingly, though in this photo hidden from view because of the lantern's placement, the ramp curves back to a wider width, allowing plenty of ingress-egress room bypassing the porch's support post at the ramp's top.
