The Scandinavian people are known for their love of the natural. In the courtyard of this two-story housing/office complex, rested an enormous granite boulder. Instead of removing it, a casual, meandering ramp was built around and on top of it. The ramp's gradient, difficult to determine from the angle of the photograph, is a gentle 3 percent. Slightly outrageous, totally fun, and very beautiful. The architect obviously had fun in designing this, almost like a child would in drawing a pathway to the house. As a result, this ramp was both easy to view and a delight to use.
